Eric Cathan, Guitar
Mauritius-born Eric Cathan studied Classical Guitar with French-Spanish Maestro, Rafaël Andia and graduated with a performance degree from the Paris College of Music (Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris). In Sydney, Eric was a founding member of the Sydney Classical Guitar Society, and its first Artistic director. He performed extensively with Sydney Symphony Orchestra flautist Michèle Hughes, Guitarist Giuseppe Zangari, the Alhambra Quartet, with Rafael Andia, Claire Sananikone and Giuseppe Zangari and various string ensembles. He is currently performing with French-Mauritian pianist Denis Lesage, with tour plans around France and Australia in 2018
Eric has taught Guitar at the UNSW, Macquarie University, Newcastle University and the Central Coast Conservatorium.
He also studied Event Management at the University of Technology and is the Founder and Director of the yearly Classical Guitar Festival Sydney. He runs a Guitar Academy and a Classical Guitar Concert series, Guitar Passion.
